How to get your Story Published

If you've written a story and want to see it in print, here are some suggestions to get you started.

  • Google "publishing children's stories." You will see many suggestions as to how you can have your story published.
  • Visit http://editingpublishing.suite101.com/article.cfm/publishing_childrens_books online and see some options, such as IlluStory (a company that produces a hardback book for you including your story, pictures and a short bio for approximately $20) or KidPub (a company that would allow you to submit your story online and have it posted on their site for approximately $7, allowing you to hold the copyright to your story) or Stone Soup (a magazine written for children writers between the ages of 8 and 13).
  • Visit http://www.highlightskids.com/Express/h11magCall.asp online to see what Highlights magazine can offer. Each month, they publish readers' work such as poems, riddles, stories and book reviews.
  • Check with your local library and community or recreational center to see if they offer children's writing workshops over the summer.

I’ll probably be back to read more of your works. It’s quite good and I enjoyed reading them.
